Featuring co-working spaces, a microbrewery, a museum, and dining options, the project blends heritage with innovation. Central to the renewal is Trident Park, a sustainable development of seven buildings with chilled floor slabs instead of air conditioning, surrounded by landscaped courtyards. The project achieves a 55% lower carbon footprint than Malta’s standard, setting a benchmark for eco-conscious design.
The Ritchie Studio-led project won ‘Best Use of Colour’ at the World Architecture Festival in Singapore, praised for its “simple and calculated use of colour” described as “quite brilliant…a really tremendous, complete environment” by judges. During restorations, new additions, including the entrance bridge and emergency staircases, were painted bright yellow to stand out from the original building materials.

The Award was given to The Cisk Tap and Grist for its exceptional design that celebrates Malta’s industrial heritage and the iconic Cisk beer. The two spaces work together in function, and both creatively reference the lager’s colours through its materials. Positioned at the heart of the bar, the beer counter mirrors how people come together to enjoy a Cisk lager.
