Our Heritage

The Brewhouse is a landmark redevelopment of an iconic brewery heritage site. Formerly known as the Farsons brewery, immense care has been taken to retain the unique aesthetic quality and stunning architectural merit of the pioneering brewery, which was one of the first and finest examples of a concrete reinforced Art Deco building on the island. Founded and designed by Lewis V. Farrugia and William Binnie the Grade 2 listed brewery was inaugurated in June 1950 and marked an important milestone in the industrialisation of post-war Malta.

Inspired by a great sense of respect and sensibility for the high quality architectural and engineering excellence of the building, the vision for The Brewhouse  has been always guided by a desire to create an exemplary destination, which not only pays tribute to the proud past of the pioneering brewery but also which adds value to the surrounding built environment and development of product Malta.
